Harvesting Wheat Grass
1. Our grass is harvested just prior to the
jointing stage. Seventy-five years of research clearly establishes the fact that the highest levels of nutrients occur during this period. Our cereal grasses are harvested only ONCE a year during this critical window of opportunity when the grass is at it’s nutritional peak. 2. The grass is direct cut and moved quickly (usually within an hour) to a specially designed dehydrator. 3. The young leaves fly quickly through a specially designed low temperature dehydrator. The cell temperature of the leaf remains below 107 degrees. This means we are able to retain maximum levels of heat sensitive nutrients like beta-carotene, phytonutrients and enzymes. 4. The dehydrated leaves are cooled and pressed into pellets. This decreases the surface area and reduces oxidation and loss of nutrients. This is the optimal way to store cereal grass. 5. The pellets are filled in pharmaceutical grade “super sacks” and nitrogen packed which limits oxidation and nutrient loss 6. Our pellets are stored frozen below 0 degrees Fahrenheit and only bottled, as we need them. This assures the nutrient content of our products remains virtually unchanged indefinitely. 7. We have quality control testing on every 1,000-Kg batch. Additionally, samples are sent to an independent lab for verification. This ensures the safest and most nutritious wheat grass, barley grass, oat grass, rye grass and alfalfa available anywhere. 8. We use the highest quality pharmaceutical grade PETE (#1) and HDPE (#2) containers packed with nitrogen and an air tight heat induction seal to ensure maximum freshness and nutrient levels. 9. All these safeguards mean you receive our bottled products nearly as fresh and nutritious as the day they were harvested.
